Embury UMC

Our mission is to love God and neighbor, witness the Good News, and nurture faithful leaders.

Embury was established in 1856 at the corner of Independence and Ward roads in the Shelby Forest area of Northwest Shelby County, Tennessee. In the early 1860's, construction began on Embury Chapel at the present location on Locke Cuba Road.

A growing congregation required expansion to Embury in the form of the Fellowship Hall and the Sunday School Building. A Parsonage was also built next door. The expanded Sanctuary was ready for service in January 1998.
